Oprah Made Nearly $12 Million By Tweeting About Bread

You could ask Oprah Winfrey for a $2.9 billion loan (with no interest, because Oprah’s cool like that), and she’d still have $300 million left over. The media mogul and renaissance woman rakes in $300 million per year, which is pretty easy to do when you make $12.5 million for tweeting about bread.

On Tuesday afternoon, Oprah tweeted a video of herself claiming that she lost 26 pounds by eating bread every day. “This is the joy for me,” she said. “I love bread! I love bread. I now just manage it. I have bread every day. That’s the genius of this program!” The “program” she’s referring to is Weight Watchers, which she’s the largest individual stakeholder of.

Thanks to all that bread, she made even more bread.

The site reports that the company’s shares increased more than 16 percent after Winfrey shared the clip. She owns roughly 6 million shares, or 10 percent of its stock, so she banked $12 million. (Via US Weekly)

Hm, let’s see if this works.

“This is the joy for me. I love tacos! I love tacos.”
