Next Season Of ‘Supernatural’ Will Feature An Animated ‘Scooby-Doo’ Crossover Episode

In 12 seasons of Supernatural, Sam and Dean have faced off against just about every kind of creature imaginable, from angels to demons to vampires to gods to literally the Wizard of Oz and everything in between. One might worry that the long running CW series could even be starting to run out of ideas at this point.

Fans can rest easy, however, because during a presentation at The CW’s 2017 Upfronts, leads Jared Padalecki and Jared Ackles announced that Supernatural — which was recently picked up for a 13th season — will be featuring an animated Scooby Doo crossover episode next season.

Scooby Dooby Doo!

The duo even provided a first look of the animated epiode, possibly in an attempt to convince those in attendance that no — this is not a joke.

The closest Supernatural has come to a crossover in the past was the current season’s blink and you’ll miss it “Lucille” cameo, which was a reference to Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s (John Winchester) character in The Walking Dead. And although the series has also featured plenty of Buffy the Vampire Slayer actors over the years, it was definitely no coincidence when both James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter popped up in season seven’s “Shut Up Dr. Phil.”

But a Scooby Doo crossover? Why not. You know Dean is gonna get down with those Scooby Snacks and probably try to bang Daphne while he’s at it.
