On Saturday night, the ABC GOP Debate began as all things in the 2016 presidential race should when Ben Carson missed a cue and didn’t appear on stage as intended. What followed was a veritable traffic jam that also backed up Republican front-runner Donald Trump, confused the other candidates and irritated the ABC staff. The internet had a field day with the televised screw up, and The View wanted in on the action during its Monday program, so they staged their own awkward entrance — complete with Raven-Symoné pulling a Carson and waiting in the wings (even after a stagehand goaded her on). Meanwhile, Joy Behar took Trump’s second place in the traffic jam, whereas Michelle Collins mimicked Jeb Bush’s shoulder tap and Whoopi Goldberg kept on walking.
Unfortunately, the ladies of The View are confined by a five-shows-a-week schedule that limits the immediacy of their more satirical pieces.
