Weekend Preview: ‘The Leftovers,’ ‘Homeland’ And A 90-Minute ‘Walking Dead’

The Walking Dead (AMC, Sunday 9 p.m.) — The only thing better than 60 minutes of zombie drama is 90 minutes of zombie drama. Morgan goes off on his own and pulls a page from John Connor’s playbook, preaching over the radio. Oh, and he kills a bunch of walkers and lights ’em on fire, as he’s wont to do.

The Knick (Cinemax, Friday 10:00 p.m.) — Blueprints, beards and butts all play prominent roles in the 13th episode of Steven Soderbergh’s bloody, turn-of-the-century medical drama.

The Leftovers (HBO, Sunday 9 p.m.) — Someone spots the missing girls, Matt and his wife are trying to get back into town, and things finally jump off in Texas.

Homeland (Showtime, Sunday, 9 p.m.) — Carrie plays nurse, someone’s spying on Saul, and protesters rock some creepy cardboard masks.

The World Series (FOX, Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday, 8 p.m.) — The Royals have a 2-0 series lead on the Mets as the Fall Classic shifts to Queens for Games 3 and 4 (and, if necessary, 5). Oh, and history and Rowdy Roddy Piper say not to count the Mets out just yet.

The Good Wife (CBS, Sunday, 9 p.m.) — Things get real when Jason helps Alicia and Lucca work on a case involving student loans.

Once Upon a Time (ABC, Sunday, 8 p.m.) — Something is definitely up as Arthur fails to open a line of communication with Merlin. And Belle’s ’bout to get got ’cause Emma put a bounty on her head.

Madam Secretary (CBS, Sunday, 8 p.m.) — President Ostrov’s death means there might be a coup in the works within the Russian government, while Oliver Shaw tries to track down the hackers responsible for breaching the system on Air Force One. SPOILER: It’s probably the dudes in the Guy Fawkes masks.

Sunday Night Football (NBC, Sunday 8:20 p.m.) — The undefeated Broncos host the undefeated Packers. Cherish it, because we don’t have many more Aaron Rodgers vs. Peyton Manning match-ups left in the tank, folks.

CSI: Cyber (CBS, Sunday, 10 p.m.) — A hacker seizes control of all the medical devices at a Dallas hospital, and the lives of the patients hang in the balance as the Cyber team works to negotiate with and/or catch the terrorist. Again, how hard is it to spot the dude in the Guy Fawkes mask?

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO, Sunday, 11 p.m.) — How long must we wait before John Oliver skewers Donald Trump and the rest of the 2016 presidential hopefuls? Quite a while, apparently. Oliver and Co. are back with a new episode this week. Expect them to continue to reach past the low-hanging fruit.

Late Night Charlie Rose, Stacy Schiff, Ghost and The Zombies on Colbert; Dana Carvey and Demi Lovato on Fallon.
