What’s On Tonight: President Obama Runs Wild With Bear Grylls And Idris Elba Returns As Luther

Running Wild with Bear Grylls (NBC, 10:00 p.m.) — Wild salmon, glacial outwash, global warming … and just two bros trekking through the Alaskan wilderness. Bear Grylls leads the leader of the free world — President Barack Obama — on an adventure in a special, hour-long presentation.

Luther (BBCA, 9:00 p.m.) — A special two-hour premiere of series four of Idris Elba’s brilliant British antihero drama has DCI Luther pulled from his coastal hideaway to join the hunt for a brutal cannibal terrorizing London.

The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2015 (ABC, 9:30 p.m.) — For the 23rd year, Barbara Walters presents her 10 most fascinating people of the past year. This iteration features the hilarious Tracy Morgan and Amy Schumer, the powerhouse Ronda Rousey, professional dreamboat Bradley Cooper, and more. (SPOILER: Get ready to feel the Bern!)

The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8:00 p.m.) — Star Wars fever hits The Big Bang Theory when Koothrappali basically holds the 78th Hunger Games to determine who gets his extra ticket to The Force Awakens premiere.

NBA Basketball (TNT, 8:00 p.m.) — Steph Curry is an absolute enigma, but this is still the NBA’s premiere 1-on-1 matchup. Kevin Durant vs. LeBron James is the main-event of Thursday night’s Thunder-Cavs game. The Thunder have won their last six and the Cavs their last three. Both are in first place.

The Breakfast Club (VH1, 8:00 p.m.) — Because hey, why not?

Thursday Night Football (NFL Network, 8:25 p.m.) — The 6-7 Buccaneers are still fighting for a playoff spot (really) as they sport fancy new uniforms and take on the 5-8 Rams. Good luck in your fantasy playoffs, everyone. Just do us a solid and keep the moves/results to yourself. (Friends don’t let friends talk about the intricacies of their fantasy teams.)

Mom (CBS, 9:00 p.m.) — Regina’s in denial about her alcoholism, and Wendy’s in denial if she thinks anyone wants to attend a dry holiday dance.

2 Broke Girls (CBS, 9:30 p.m.) — Note to Employers: The only team-building exercise people want to participate in is the one that comes with an open bar. Max and Caroline get roped into an “Escape the Room” event with the rest of the diner gang in the fall finale.
