The BBC released two short teasers for the first two episodes in season 6 of Doctor Who, titled “The Impossible Astronaut” and “Day of the Moon”. The episodes were written by Steven Moffat — who says we’ll finally find out in these episodes who the Silence is — and include the first Doctor Who scenes to ever be filmed in the U.S., specifically in Utah. Events in the show have taken place in the U.S. before, but were never filmed here. Ah yes, I fondly remember the blooper reel where the doctor went to an Iowa State Fair tractor pull and accidentally crashed a Massey Ferguson into Stonehenge. Good times.
Also, Den of Geek noticed the version of the first teaser which aired on BBC Two included a plot clue not seen in the BBC One version. Pictures and video of that are on the last page. Is that the Silence standing behind Doctor Who? Or did I just photoshop Waldo over a run-of-the-mill alien in a business suit? And can the alien in a business suit help me with my taxes?
