U.S. Customs helped Panama officials spot, stop and confiscate a speedboat law enforcement agents say was carrying 3,300 pounds of pure coke. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a P-3 aircraft crew was patrolling open waters near Panama City on Saturday when they spotted a speedboat carrying four suspects, fuel barrels and multiple packages. Alerted by the crew, Panamanian officials then fired warning shots which stopped the boat dead in its tracks.
According to Panama police, a search of the speedboat found $240 million worth of pure coke stuffed in fuel barrels. The suspects, who claimed Colombian citizenship, were arrested and their boat seized.
