It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly 11 years since PC and Mac gamers first tripped balls on American McGee’s Alice, but it’s true, it’s been that long! And with a visual motif that was unlike anything players had seen before, not to mention the creepy ass musical score from NIN’s Chris Vrenna, it really is kind of a mystery why it’s taken so long for the gaming industry to venture back into Lewis Carroll’s warped Wonderland, with a sequel. Better late than never, I suppose.
Well here it is, finally, the game trailer for Alice: Madness Returns – yet another excuse to hide inside all day talking to cats. The story’s narrative takes place 11 years after the original game’s story, as Alice struggles with a flood of repressed memories that send her spiraling back down that infamous rabbit hole. Developed by McGee’s Spicy Horse company, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of Alice: Madness Returns will contain a single-use download code that will allow players to embark on the original adventure of the first game. So really, it’s kind of like a video game Happy Hour: on console you’ll be receiving two drinks for the price of just one.
Due out June 14th, don’t miss American McGee’s Alice: Madness Returns -I mean, where else these days do you get to smoke hookah with a giant caterpillar besides my mom’s house?
