Mylo the Cat a.k.a.Adam Schleichkorn is back with yet another banging mashup. Classic hip hop songs from Eminem, The Beastie Boys, and Outkast have all received the Mylo treatment which basically makes both hip hop and children’s television show classics become better than they already are.
Last month, Schleichkorn used the smooth rhyming of The Notorious B.I.G with some solid ad-libbing by a Big Purple Poppa named Barney. Now another summer hip hop classic anthem is the latest release from Schleichkorn. Schleichkorn explained why he wanted to do the DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince track “Summertime” which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
I know it’s always great to go the gangsta rap route, but I really feel as if Big Bird is a perfect match for Will Smith. I put a ton of thought (for some reason) into song choices and characters, so hopefully it comes across. I was taking my time on this one, but then I recently got inspired by an editor named Vic Berger, of Super Deluxe. He and Tim Heidecker attended the Republican National Convention last week, and cranked out an amazing 20 minute video, basically instantaneously. So, I figured it’s time to stop messing around, and get this thing completed. I hope to work with these guys on a Chubby Checker mashup one day, or perhaps one for the greatest rock band ever, Dekkar.
We know you’ll be feeling Big Bird’s groove, but keep an eye out or two for some cameos, especially the “honey with the light eyes” that our yellow pal might be crushing on.
