Activision has a “big reveal” planned for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 this weekend, but it seems that the internet cannot wait as some important details about the game have been leaked. Kotaku has shared a pre-order poster for the game which has its official release date listed as Friday, November 6th. Users who choose to pre-order the title will allegedly be granted beta access, which will be limited to PS4, XBOX One, and PC platforms.
Release date aside, more details hit Reddit on Friday. First and foremost, the post reveals the main campaign story mode won’t be available in just single-player, but will support co-op for up to four players. The campaign characters will be fully customizable — including weapons, loadouts, abilities and outfits. The player’s stats will also be tracked throughout the missions.
The game art also highlights a “new momentum-based chain movement system” which will allow players to fluidly move through the game’s environment while maintaining complete control of weapons at all times. Treyarch has also built the game maps from the ground up to support this new system. Black Ops 3 boasts a “new Specialist character system” which will not only allow players to rank up and earn new weapon attachments, but will give them the opportunity to master each multiplayer character’s “battle-hardened capabilities and weapons.”
As for the return of the popular zombies mode, the leaked artwork suggests players will be treated to an all-new zombie-slaying story. The zombies mode will also feature a full XP-based progression system, enabling players to gain strength through every zombie killed.
Activision has scheduled their Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 reveal trailer to go live on Sunday at 10 a.m. PST. The trailer will hopefully include a more in-depth look at gameplay and confirm some (or none) of the leaks. However, it’s possible we may have to wait until after June’s E3 event to know for sure.
