Da$h’s cut from a different cloth than the majority of artists in today’s never-ending stream of rap. As the nephew of another famous Dash (Damon), there’s a certain pedigree, a hustler’s spirit if you will, that Da$h exudes. But it’s readily apparent his goal is to build him rep without plying by on kinship.
The New Jersey native subscribes to a few rap tenets – covering bitches, blunts and riches – but it’s his strong delivery and preference for boom bap production that shows he’s immersed in offer substance to go along with style. And with his new drop, the V.I.C.E.S. mixtape, Da$h doesn’t rely on others, even though Action Bronson, Ab-Soul, A$AP Nast, Vince Staples and A$AP Ferg drop features and he receives production from the likes of Mac Miller, Thelonious Martin, V’Don and more. They’re there to make appearances, not steal the show. Because for 15-tracks, that belongs to Da$h.
