It seems a little baffling that Kari would use the word “Faux” as part of her name, other than it sounds hip, because everything about No Sleep Til Atlanta is the opposite of fake. Kari’s young voice is a reminder that age really doesn’t matter, as she sounds wise beyond her 20 years. “1993” has her reprising a Murph Lee’s of “What The Hook Gon Be,” and her easygoing version of it works well with the spunky lines that she spits, and goes bar for bar with fellow Little Rock-to-Atlanta transplant SL Jones on “Work of Art.” Clearly, the move to Atlanta has treated Kari well.
