Ask me who one of my favorite producers of the moment is, and without hesitation, I’ll say Metro Boomin. The young ATLien has been one of my favorites for a while now, and 19 & Boomin has been one of my most anticipated projects as soon as I heard about.
A3C went down last weekend in Atlanta, and I was lucky enough to observe the young master at work in the studio as he finished up the tape. As someone who wouldn’t be totally opposed to submitting blog posts written out on paper in lieu of technology at times, it was fascinating to watch him rework “1982.” During our time in the studio, Metro took Gucci’s lyrics and tried a couple different beat combinations. I couldn’t tell you for certain if this is the final version of what I heard when I was there, but it turned out to be a monstrous final product.
Future, SL Jones, OJ Da Juiceman, and plenty more are featured throughout, while DJ Spinz, Southside, and Zaytoven, among others, jump in with some co-production. The bigger the speakers and subs for this one, the better.
