America is a great place. If you want proof, consider that Hannah Hart, famous for getting wasted and trying to cook, and Grace Helbig, famous for… uh, being famous enough to be in commercials, have leveraged those credentials to star in a superhero show.
Granted, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl isn’t exactly The Dark Knight Returns. It’s one of a few shows from the 1970s that tried to capture that campy Batman air with varying degrees of success. And, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the premise has been slightly tweaked:
Helbig will star as Electra Woman and Hart will star as Dyna Girl, two superheroes who move from Akron, Ohio, to Los Angeles in the hopes of making it big in the crime-fighting world.
They’re playing the comedy a bit straighter, at least. The main question now is which network will pick this up, as it appears so far just to be in the works on the production side. Hey, if The CW can put together The Actors Who We’ve Hired to be Superheroes Who Have Fanbases Hour, we’re sure these two can find a place in the programming guide.
