A little over a year ago artist Jason Heuser (aka SharpWriter on DeviantArt) caught the epic-appreciating eye of the internet with his piece “Washington Vs. Tiger”, a digital painting depicting the first president battling a Bengal tiger in a boat during a hurricane. Just as it happened. As you can imagine the image quickly went viral. I currently use a print as the front windshield sun protector in my van.
Heuser has since regularly followed up with more examples of epic presidential bad*assery, most notably “Abe Lincoln Riding a Grizzly” and “Teddy Roosevelt Vs. Bigfoot”. Each new piece now includes a description of the real life historical event he’s depicting. Who are you to say Lincoln didn’t deliver the Emancipation Proclamation wielding an assault rifle from the back of a Grizzly? You weren’t there! Unless you’re a vampire, and in that case Lincoln is coming for you.
Heuser’s latest, “Thomas Jefferson Vs. Gorilla” reminds us:
“Thomas Jefferson was never much of a warrior history tells us, but yet again history is wrong. This is an image of one of the many attempts by Jefferson to battle all the manliest animals on earth while trying to teach them the ways of America.”
Here’s the set in chronological order from release date, complete with fake historical descriptions that I believe as fact. Support Heuser’s work by buying a print here.

“In the year 2055 the world was invaded, humanity sat on the brink of destruction the world governments united and sent agents back in time to get the best general we’d ever known…Andrew Jackson and throughout his life he did a lot of cool shit, dueled people…a lot which is how he ended up with a musket ball in his chest pretty much exactly like Tony Stark. Went to war, gambled, etc etc .
