Fitness instructor Liz Krueger learned a not-so-fun lesson about dress codes at a recent wedding. These codes may not be official in every life scenario, but they certainly exist at least on an unspoken basis. Take, for example, the burlesque dancer who was booted from a JetBlue flight for wearing too-short shorts. Or the gymgoer who was told to cover up after her well-endowed chest drew too many stares.
Sometimes, one leaves the gym to go to a wedding (it happens), and all hell breaks loose. Krueger experienced as much when she wore a tight dress resembling an Ace bandage. There were a few embellishments, but the peach-and-beige scrap of clothing didn’t hide much. And although she was covered up, Krueger says that women at the wedding didn’t appreciate how she diverted attention from the bride’s important day. Krueger explains that she wore the tiny dress to stay cool: “If only I knew that choosing this dress for a wedding on a 90 degree day meant so many women would be outrightly rude to me, and even come up behind me and slap my ass as I’m standing alone.” Her fellow guests even imagined that she wore this dress on a dare.
Well, there’s a lesson learned, although it sure sounds like guests also helped divert attention away from the bride by making a huge deal out of nothing. Krueger has plenty of other outfits in her closet, too. She showed them off on Instagram, as one does.
