Five new clips from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey are online now (and hopefully won’t be pulled). Along with the clip and pictures from last month, these clips are showing us a wide variety of the action, humor, and dramatic exposition to expect when the film opens December 14th. Skip to the last couple of videos below if you’re only here for the fight scenes.
In the first video below, the Dwarves surprise Bilbo with a visit to deliver the contract. In the second video they try to convince him to sign the contract. The third video shows Gollum threatening to eat Bilbo, while the final two videos finally give us a glimpse of the fighting. The last video, in particular, shows a goblin fight of epic proportions, complete with an obligatory Wilhelm scream and a perhaps headache-inducing level of 48 fps detail. If watching The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in HFR 3D does give you a headache, we suggest the solution endorsed by a Hobbit superfan:
We’re starting our treatment now, just to be sure.
