Marvel has released the first official photo from a scene in Guardians of the Galaxy, and it calls back a funny vignette from the footage screened at San Diego Comic-Con and the D23 Expo. We’d link to the footage, but Marvel sent us a takedown notice last time we did that. (Boooo hissss. Why do you hate joy?)
Anyway, that footage was comedic in tone, and ended with the Guardians in a line-up, with John C. Reilly (Rhomann Dey) saying, “They call themselves the Guardians Of The Galaxy,” to which Peter Serafinowicz (a Nova Corps officer) replies, “What a bunch of a-holes.”
Hey, check out these a-holes. Here’s Zoe Saldana as Gamora and Chris Pratt as Star-Lord.
And here’s the awesome Rocket Raccoon, modeled after Oreo the Raccoon and voiced by Bradley Cooper.
And here’s WWE’s Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer alongside Groot (voice by Vin Diesel).
The Shiznit noticed someone was missing — Benicio del Toro as The Collector — so they made this gloriously improved version.
