We’ve all had one of those days where we’ve misplaced our keys, or forgotten our child in the backseat of a hot car, or set a bag with $141,000 cash in it on the curb and left it by mistake. The lesson, of course, is: Don’t do that.
That’s what a couple of ATMforUs.com employees learned on Monday, when one worker set an unmarked bag full of money down next to his car to rummage around in the trunk, and then promptly forgot about it and drove off.
The bag was full of $20s and $10s that were being used to replenish local cash machines in Mahwah, N.J. According to Mahwah police, the worker got about seven miles away from where he left the bag and realized he didn’t have it on him. By the time he’d returned, it was gone, and the poor guy must have had a cardiac episode because they had to call an ambulance for him.
It appears the money was picked up by this fella:
This industrious young man in a white GMC Savanna work van was driving around picking up old tires when he also decided to walk away with a bag full of money. Police are looking for the guy and want to let everyone know that “Finders Keepers” isn’t a real thing when we’re talking about $141,000 in cash.
