A Drug Smuggler Needed Surgery To Remove Heroin From Her ‘Private Area’

Michael Torrez, Miranda Baldonado, and Sarah Valencia were arrested on Monday in Arizona and charged with an assortment of felonies, including possession and transportation of narcotics for sale, but only one of them was found with heroin in their “private area.”

That would be Baldonado, 19, who “required medical intervention to safely remove the drug stash from her body,” according to KPHO. All told, deputies found nearly 2 pounds of heroin in the PT Cruiser that Torrez was driving, and inside Baldonado and Valencia.

“While conversing with the occupants, deputies noticed numerous signs of deception as the occupants of the vehicle appeared more nervous than the innocent motoring public,” YCSO spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn said in a media alert.

Suspecting the trio was transporting drugs, the deputy asked to search the vehicle, which is owned by Baldonado. When she declined, the deputy walked his K9 partner around the car. The dog alerted on the right side of the trunk area. The deputy searched the truck and discovered [heroin] wrapped in condoms, according to D’Evelyn. (Via KPHO)

How come stories about heroin wrapped in condoms never have a happy ending? Valencia and Baldonado, who also face charges for evidence tampering, are being held on $150,000 bond.
