Last month a guy on Reddit claimed he knew someone at a digital animation company who had worked on a Guardians of the Galaxy teaser in which Thanos was voiced by Josh Brolin. Now Latino Review reports Josh Brolin is indeed voicing Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy, while Justin Kroll and Jeff Sneider confirm and add the not surprising news that Brolin will be voicing Thanos in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron and is the lead villain in the third Avengers movie. Thanos is reportedly in only one scene in Act 3 of Guardians of the Galaxy, where he’ll be riding a rocket throne ’cause he’s baller.
Thanos was seen briefly at the end of The Avengers in a non-speaking role played by Damion Poitier. The Marvel movies have been building up to the Infinity Gauntlet storyline, with Thanos as the big bad, so we’ve been anticipating this casting news for a very long time. Josh “keep brolin brolin” Brolin has previously bashed Jonah Hex, so at least we know he’ll keep it real.
Guardians of the Galaxy opens August 1st. Thanks to CBM for the assist.
