The 2016 Hyundai Genesis has a feature called Blue Link Car Finder on its premium sedan model, the functions of which are pretty straight-forward and self-explanatory. I imagine most owners of a Genesis will use the feature when they’re out and about at a mall or grocery store and they can’t find their car in a crowded parking lot. Jerry and Elaine and George and Kramer could have used it once upon a time.

But in Hyundai’s new ad that is scheduled to air during Super Bowl 50, Kevin Hart has discovered another potential function: helping out an overprotective dad as he spies on his daughter’s first date.

In the commercial, Hart hands over the keys to his car to his daughter’s new boyfriend, which is a perfectly reasonable thing for a father to do and the young man should not have had any suspicions whatsoever. Then, with the help of Car Finder, Hart proceeds to follow them around town to the movies, a carnival, and a classic television make-out spot that overlooks the town’s bright lights.

Quick aside, do these types of places exist in real life? My town doesn’t have one, at least that I know of, but they sound fun.

Of course, all of these shenanigans take place unbeknownst to his oblivious daughter, who is left to wonder why her boyfriend is acting weird all night. I don’t suspect there will be a second date.
