Hey guys, guess what? Kevin Smith knows something about the new Superman vs. Batman movie that you don’t! Specifically what Ben Affleck’s Bat-costume looks like. Of course Smith isn’t spilling too much information about the new outfit, because then it wouldn’t be a special secret between Kevin Smith and his close personal friend Ben Affleck, but he did have this to say on a recent podcast…
“I saw the costume, more than that I saw him [Ben Affleck] in the costume. I don’t want to give anything away cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this — I instantly bear hugged him. You have not seen this costume in film before. Because every other movie has done this Matrixy black armor thing. There wasn’t a single nipple on this f–king suit man. I think everyone is gonna be like, ‘Holy S–t!’ We haven’t been down this path before.”
Aw, not a single nipple? Not even one? Smith elaborated a bit further, but had to censor himself…
“It seemed like it was very [Redacted] influenced.”
Hmmm, I assume he’s talking about comics when he says the suit is influenced by something. So, what artists have a super-distinctive take on Batman that could be influencing Batfleck’s costume? Neal Adams? Frank Miller? Then again, maybe Smith wasn’t talking about comics — personally I think it’s about time to get some 60s Adam West influence back in the movies.
