Khloe Kardashian posted this side-by-side photo comparison from her recent Complex magazine shoot. The left side is the “before” shot, and the right is the “after” version. In the wake of Khloe’s exposed butt on the magazine’s cover, the internet responded in a predictable matter. This reaction could be seen as disconcerting, as women’s bodies are constantly judged, and models are always retouched for magazines. Men are retouched for magazines, too, but women are the ones who are critiqued for a post-shoot process that is largely out of their control.
A bit of perspective is required, however, for anything regarding the Kardashian family. Their reality shows are scripted, their daily paparazzi walks are executed with finesse, and nothing ever seems real with them. Also contributing to public sentiment is Kim’s Paper magazine shoot, which didn’t even look close to authentic. Kim has also been busted using Photoshop on her selfies, so Khloe is fighting up uphill battle against her family’s reputation.
After Khloe’s Complex shoot hit the internet, the Photoshop accusations flew:

Khloe Kardashian body goals… with photoshop and surgery
— Karla (@karlajuaz_) July 27, 2015
I can only imagine the loads of photoshop work that went into Khloe Kardashian’s Complex cover.

Khloe wasn’t thrilled at the response to the final Complex product. For months already, she has been defending her body as a result of daily workouts.
I find it disgusting but maybe a compliment that I'm being accused of getting Lipo done. I work out 5 days a week. I bust my ass!
— Khloé (@khloekardashian) June 9, 2015
Yes this is documented by the paps. I'm assuming if I've had any sort of surgery I would need 6-8 weeks off of any intense workout.

Why is it so hard to give credit where credits due? I work my ass off in the gym. Again maybe I should be flattered?!?! Hummmmm

After the renewed criticism from her booty shoot, Khloe posted the aforementioned side-by-side shot. She admits being Photoshopped but says the body is all her own. Instagram comments were generally supportive.
Some people even thought the pre-Photoshop image looked better.
@khloekardashian I actually think the unretouched version looks better!! You should be proud of the work and progress you've done! ☺️☺️😘

Khloe thanked everyone for their kind comments. Validation unlocked.
How sweet are you guys! I love you guys and I see all the positivity and love! I'm so blessed🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️

It’s also worth mentioning that Khloe is very secure with her body. This twerking incident happened a week ago at Kylie Jenner’s graduation party.
