While it’s not hugely popular in North America, Puzzle & Dragons is essentially the Candy Crush of Asia, being downloaded well over 30 million times in Japan alone and generating more money worldwide than any other mobile game in 2013. Well, it seems like Nintendo is looking to get their hands on some of that sweet match-three cash, as they’ve just announced Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition exclusively for the 3DS.
While this won’t make huge waves in the US, could it possibly foretell a future where Nintendo teams up with other iOS/Android developers for Nintendo-ized versions of their popular mobile games? Angry Birds Kirby Version perhaps? Temple Run Zelda Edition?

No word on whether this game will be coming to North America, but I have a feeling Nintendo isn’t going to leave any extra money on the table with this one.
