Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg isn’t someone you’re likely to peg as a romantic guru, but we have to say his most recent slice of dating advice is spot-on.

Zuckerberg’s counsel came up in the comments of a post where the tech titan outlined his big shiny challenge for 2016. (SPOILER: That challenge is building “a simple AI to run my home and help me with my work.”) As is customary for a big “here’s what I’m doing” Facebook post from a noted celebrity, there were all sorts of folks popping in with their own comments. The one that seems to have caught everyone’s eye was the response the billionaire gave to a cheery comment from a grandmother that noted she encouraged her granddaughters to “date the nerd in school” on the chance they might be the next Zuck.

Sensible advice, Zucko! This chunklet of insight has all sorts of lovely things to it. It encourages women to kick ass as inventors and technological innovators, and it argues against being the plus one in your own story. (For her part, Grandma Darlene has stressed that she said the nerd thing in jest and that she’s always encouraged her grandchildren to do well.)

Zuckerberg’s push to be rather than date the nerd has earned over 24,500 likes in just 23 hours with loads more time for that total to swell and swell.
