Sometimes, less is more at these kinds of conventions.
My Other Me: A Film About Cosplayers is the latest work-in-progress from director Josh Laner. The partially finished project follows one entire year in the lives of three distinct cosplayers: Twinfools, Rifa and SecretAttire. While the documentary attempts to explore the balance between a cosplayer’s passion and their actual daily lives, unfortunately this trailer doesn’t do much in the department of breaking typical stereotypes. For crying out loud, Forever Alone even shows up to party.
At the moment, the project’s production company is trying to raise extra funds to finish the project. You can donate through the film’s IndieGogo site or instead save that money for college. Your call.
