The #NewHarryPotterBooks Hashtag Confused And Upset A Lot Of Muggles

Last night’s new episode of Comedy Central’s @midnight played a dangerous, hilarious game with their latest Twitter-devouring hashtag: #NewHarryPotterBooks.

The intention was pure — to come up with pun-filled titles for the hypothetical next Harry Potter novel — but it was quickly misconstrued. Fans of J.K. Rowling’s wizard series briefly thought a new Potter book was ACTUALLY coming out (because a play and spin-off movie isn’t enough for those greedy Mudbloods), and once they discovered the truth, they were not pleased.

Here are some of the most over-the-top reactions.

Not everyone misunderstood the hashtag, though.

Even I’m upset that one isn’t real.
