A Real-Life Glock Was Transformed Into The NES ‘Duck Hunt’ Gun By A Creative Manufacturer

It’s a situation in which life is imitating art (if you believe videogames are art like I do) which were inspired by life, a custom gun manufacturer created an homage to what we all lovingly know as the “Duck Hunt Gun” by creating a glock underneath the classic Nintendo color scheme. Gun enthusiasts that grew up firing the light gun at dastardly ducks in their formative years are probably drooling looking at this piece of hardware.

Of course, considering the real weapon was inspired by a child’s toy (which was inspired by a real weapon), the company came under heavy scrutiny for creating the ZapperĀ Glock. Precision Syndicate LLC, the company that made the gun, has been inundated with disappointed messages that have cried foul. A weapon such as this could be mistaken as a toy, and create a real danger for any child that gets their hands on it.

They have responded in kind.

It’s good to see that they are promoting safety and awareness around their weapons, and while it’s a shame that only one person in the world will have this gun, it likely wouldn’t make it past Nintendo’s lawyers if it were mass-produced in any shape or form.

Here are the original Zappers for reference. First, the orange one:

Then the original, which I owned along with Castlevania and Super Mario Bros. after a fateful trip to my local mall in the late 80’s. Ah, hardware pack-ins. Those were the days.
