There are very few concoctions that have fascinated the internet and urban myth fans for years quite like Coca-Cola with some Mentos tossed in. In fact, video-makers have been trying to capture the hearts and views of people around the world with whatever new Coke and Mentos experiment that they can come up with. It’s actually sort of an internet tradition of sorts now to try to do something with Mentos and Coke.
So it should come as no surprise that a guy filled a 1,500-gallon pool full of Coke all in the name of YouTube views, Mashable reports. This industrious young man has proven that he was willing to go to extremes by filling up this entire pool with Coca-Cola, purchasing 2-liter bottles and tons of cans and pouring them into his pool. What was the point of all of that? It’s not readily clear outside of saying, “Hey look, this is a pool full of brown sugar water and mosquitoes.”
Perhaps he was attempting to trap all of the local mosquitoes in an attempt to further study the Zika virus? That or he just wanted to dump a bucket of Mentos into the pool, have his friend dive into it and then crash a drone into it, ruining the drone. For their efforts, they did find out that a drone trying to escape a pool of Coca-Cola sounds like it’s farting, at least. Science will never forget this landmark moment.
