Mother Nature should take a vacation. This is the scene from Washington, Illinois after a powerful tornado ripped through the area earlier today. A major storm system spanning several states is to blame for the powerful tornadoes that have affected several parts of Illinois and still threaten several other states.
The National Weather Service reports that parts of Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, southern Michigan and western Ohio are at risk of seeing tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds. This is highly unusual for this time of year, but the temperatures are unseasonably warm in the area. (via)
If you’re in the warning areas, please seek shelter and don’t risk injury or worse. Emergency crews are assisting those in affected areas, so let’s hope the damage there is only limited to property.
