Pole dance instructor Jill MacLean — or, Cleo The Hurricane, as she goes by professionally — wasn’t going to let a little thing like gestating a human life inside of her body get in the way of her passion. The owner of Cleo’s Rock ‘N Pole, the Los Angeles pole dancing studio MacLean runs, writes in a blog post that she decided not to “hang up her heels” when she and her husband Mike decided to have a baby, and chose to put it all out there to sidestep trolls who claim that pole dancing and motherhood are mutually exclusive.
Although MacLean writes that she’s been avoiding any tricks or anything that would obviously be putting her or her baby at risk, she’s been flaunting her pregnancy flexibility by posting pictures of her journey online.
I’m not only doing this to share my journey with you, but I do it for me… To feel sexy again! Like a hot mumma! …and how much fun it’s been! If anyone knows me knows that I don’t take life too seriously and always love a good laugh also (the belly rub video was so fun to shoot!) In saying that, I take my pregnancy VERY seriously and would never put on a pair of 7 or 8″ heels if I wasn’t completely comfortable and confident in them. Strapping on these heels and strutting to the pole, completely confident and aware, with my heels as an extension of my legs I feel completely comfortable!
Well, you certainly can’t fault a lady for wanting to feel sexy during her pregnancy, when society has been telling women pretty much the exact opposite for ages. MacLean finally gave birth this week, but here are some of the incredible shots from her Instagram account.
