Mad Men star Jon Hamm has been released from a stint in rehab to deal with his reported alcohol abuse. According to TMZ, Hamm checked into the Silver Hill Hospital in Connecticut back at the end of February and just completed a 30-day program. Hamm’s representatives released the following statement to the media:
“With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction. They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward.”(via)
The final season of Mad Men premieres on April 5th, with production already completed on the episodes that will close Don Draper’s story. Hamm’s personal story and struggle might come as a bit of a surprise, but it is good that he sought help and has support from his peers and family.
