Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained and Les Misérables, starring Anne Hathaway, both come out on Christmas. They look very good, but you wouldn’t want to see either with Cousin Tommy, that little sprite. They’re pretty bleak, but which is more depressing: the movie about slaves or the movie that’s literally called The Misery.
That’s what Django star Samuel L. Jackson and Hathaway debate in a “Sad-Off Showdown” for Funny or Die. Jackson is great, as ever, and the video allows to him freely use the word he couldn’t on SNL, while Hathaway also says “motherf*cker” and destroys a gingerbread (slave) house and plays the Tuberculosis card and I’m so in love with her. “Nothing says Christmas like slaves and whores.” Amen.
