So, DuckTales is getting an HD remake! Hooray! But wait, how close is the “remastered” edition going to be to the NES classic? Developer WayForward has said they’re going to be modernizing the game for new players — just how far are they going?
Well, IGN put together a helpful video that compares the original and remastered versions of the game’s Amazon level side-by-side, and it seems as though WayForward is keeping mostly faithful to the level design of the NES game. The main difference is that Scrooge is now a regular chatty Cathy, constantly chiming in with bits of dialogue that should help modern gamers navigate DuckTales’ sometimes complex stages. Also, boss battles have received a significant upgrade.
