Stringer Bell Is Still Cancelling The Apocalypse In Second 'Pacific Rim' Trailer

A new trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim was released at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last night. This one is very similar to the first trailer, but we’ll post anything that has Charlie Day (wild card!) and A ROBOT WITH ROCKET ELBOWS PUNCHING A MONSTER IN THE FACE.

YES.

Pacific Rim opens in 3D on July 12th, 2013. The plot follows “a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.” The apocalypse in question is caused by giant monsters who emerged from the Pacific Ocean.

We know some would argue a humanoid robot controlled by two fragile people inside it is an incredibly stupid way to fight behemoths from the briny deep, to which we reply: you shut up. You shut up right now. Robot with rocket elbows punching a monster in the face. Robot. With rocket elbows. Punching a monster in the face.

The defense rests.
