Earlier this year, Arnold Schwarzenegger said he’d be in Terminator 5. Then Paramount issued a press release saying the fifth movie will be called just Terminator and be a reboot as a “stand-alone trilogy” opening July 1st, 2015. The Hollywood Reporter now confirms earlier reports that Schwarzenegger will play a Terminator robot protecting a young Sarah Conner in a film set in multiple time periods, but what is more interesting is the news of who’s going to be testing for the lead roles.
Director Alan Taylor — coming off the success of Thor: The Dark World — is reportedly testing at least four actresses for Sarah Connor, including Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones), Brie Larson (21 Jump Street), Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street), and an unnamed actor.
The characters of John Connor and his father Kyle Reese will also be cast soon. THR says Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) is one of the actors wanted for Kyle Reese. Taylor reportedly wants Tom Hardy to play John Conner.
Yes, there’s a distant possibility we could see the Mother of Dragons as Sarah Conner and Bane as her son. Can we bottle this and pour it all over me?
