This collection of 30-second animated trailers come from Denmark via The Animation Workshop. The student exercise is called The Trailer Project and it takes numerous classic films and re-imagines them in an animated format. The results? Amazing.
Go check out some of the others not included over at the YouTube page, but we’ve compiled some of the cooler ones below for you to peruse. Imagine if The Shining took place on a haunted freight ship, or if The Big Lebowski was remade as a kung fu action-comedy like Kung Fu Hustle. These even dive into the silly with the Citizen Kane parody that replaces “rosebud” with something a little more alarming.
These are well worth the time they took to create and enjoyable. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go pretend The Shining really did take place on a haunted ship. That’ll white wash the memory of Ghost Ship from my mind.
