Motivating kids to not be absolutely worthless can certainly be a challenge. Some parents use Dr. Phil-style psychology on their children, while others go for the tried and true method of bribing the little monsters with money. Two Florida parents, though, took a decidedly different route to get their youngins to do their best… stuffing their faces with illicit drugs.
According to the Smoking Gun, Joey and Chad Mudd of Largo, Fla., gave their two daughters, ages 13 and 14, marijuana and cocaine to do chores and perform better in school. The two doped-up parents were caught by deputies when a tip was sent to the Pinellas County child abuse hotline.
The arrest affidavits for both Joey and Chad read like a how-to book for stupid parenting. Joey Mudd, the mother, admitted to smoking weed with the kids on five separate occasions, claiming it was a “bargaining tool” of sorts. Not to be outdone by good ol’ mom, Chad Mudd admitted to snorting cocaine with the girls in the family truck earlier this year.
Both of these stellar role models are looking at several counts of child abuse, and hopefully some sort of old-timey lobotomy. I guess with a last name like Mudd, what can you really expect?
