Dancing the labor pains away is nothing new if you’ve ever taken a glance at such things around the Internet. There are belly dancers out there working the pain away, twerking mothers trying to work their babies out at the right moment, and then this lady. Trying to induce a little labor with the 69 Boyz (backed up by the Quad City DJs) and their classic song “Tootsie Roll.” This goes back to my love of Jock Jams, clearly.
Fox 13 in Salt Lake City carried the initial story, providing the critical details behind why this woman was dancing in her hospital room (but not why her husband decided to provide commentary to the video):
While awaiting the birth of their second child at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Connell Cloyd uploaded this video to Facebook where Yuki Nishizawa is shown doing the butterfly, the side shuffle, the “Tootsie Roll,” the two step and other dance moves to the delight of the nursing staff.
The original video seems to have disappeared or made private, but it has already made its way elsewhere online. So congrats, you’re now famous thanks to those sick dance moves. Let’s celebrate with a little tune.
