As the country awaits the impending grand jury decision in Ferguson, a St. Louis woman worried about self-defense allegedly shot herself in the head by accident on Friday night. According to WGN TV, 26-year-old Becca Campbell bought a gun “to prepare for possible Ferguson-related unrest.”
To celebrate, she waved it around in a moving vehicle. As any intelligent person would know, this made the driver nervous.
He ducked to get out of the way of the gun and accidentally rear-ended another car. He said the accident caused the gun to go off and she was struck by a bullet in the head, the sources said.
The victim was rushed to a hospital but died.
The investigation is continuing because police want to be sure the story as told by the boyfriend is correct, the sources said. Police are awaiting gun trace results, as part of the ongoing investigation.
It looks like the ongoing Ferguson fiasco has indirectly taken another life. Meanwhile, the Darwin Awards committee just received another promising entry.
