A woman named Claudia Castillo “pulled over” a cop and explained that she did so because he was speeding. She also videotaped the whole conversation and uploaded it to YouTube. The above video is of the explanation, but there are three clips altogether. Let’s start from the beginning.
In this first video, Castillo films the highway that she’s driving on, explaining that the police officer that she’s trying to catch up to is four cars in front of her. She also explains that she had to “really push the limit” to catch up to him, that even at 80 mph, she wasn’t able to do so.
In the second video, Castillo explains that she was able to pull up beside the cop and ask him to pull over. He appears to be doing so (by driving on the shoulder), but then he speeds up and switches lanes again. In the end, he pulls off the highway and stops so that Castillo can talk to him.
“You were pushing 90 miles an hour,” Castillo tells the cop in this last video. “You passed me like I was standing still … I pushed 80 to try and catch up with you, but I was still eating your dust.” The cop says he was going to work, but that he doesn’t believe he was speeding. Then: “I apologize and I’ll be sure to slow down then.”
For a situation that could have ended very differently, all’s well that ends well here. The Miami-Dade police department says they will investigate the officer.
