The internet’s most famous weatherwoman is at it again, and this time Yanet Garcia is pushing the boundaries of what Mexican TV will allow on their airwaves. In a weather broadcast for Televisa’s Monterrey News on Dec. 3, Garcia wore a nude-colored miniskirt that seemed far too tight on her body. She doubled down with a top that exposed her stomach, something she hadn’t done before, even with her more risque outfits.
The internet caught wind of Garcia’s fashion shenanigans after she shared a selfie on social media.

The photo generated thousands of comments, mostly from Garcia’s adoring fans. One clever fellow messed around on Photoshop and produced this image.
And then the memes rolled in.

A few notable Mexican blogs wondered if Garcia had gone too far with the outfit.

Garcia responded to the attention in an interview saying, “This has all been so surprising to me, I am overwhelmed by how fast it’s grown.”
She followed that up with a brief response on Twitter.
All publicity is good publicity ;)

Garcia’s popularity has exploded these last few months. In June, she boasted just a few thousand followers on social media, barely had a Facebook following to speak of. Now she has more than a million fans on Instagram, more than 250,000 on Twitter and 750,000 likes on her official Facebook page. There’s a subreddit devoted to just pics and gifs of her. She has a PR firm that handles all her media requests and a management company that handles her photoshoots. To top it off, she started a modeling school in her hometown called “Yanet Garcia models.”
By this time next year, she may very well be one of the most recognizable names on the internet.
