Bob Dylan takes his fifth album to the top of the Billboard 200 this week as the sparse “Together Through Life” starts its chart life at the summit.

“Dylan’s last studio album, 2006’s “Modern Times,” also entered the nearly 70,000 more units sold than “Life’s” 125,000. As Billboard notes, Dylan promoted “Times” through an iPod spot, whereas “Life” has been promoted primarily through word of mouth, a great interview on Dylan’s website and scattered interviews, such as his current Rolling Stone cover.

Dinosaur week continues on the chart as the second highest debut on the chart this week belongs to Heaven and Hell’s “The Devil You Know,” which comes in at No. 8. Heaven and Hell is the new group formed by current and former members of Black Sabbath, including Ronnie James Dio.

The only other debut in the Top 10 comes from “”Songs Around the World” the charity album that’s already proved to be an internet sensation. It features local street musicians performing with such artists as Bono.

Rapper Mike Jones bows at No. 12 with “Voice.”

Two stalwarts start to climb back up the chart… Lady Gaga’s “The Fame” move 7-5. That record just keeps on chugging along. While Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” slides back into the Top 10 after a few weeks bubbling just under.
