Foo Fighters to perform live on Facebook

Hey, U2 did it on YouTube, so Foo Fighters should be able to pull something similar off on Facebook.

The rock act will be performing a concert via the social network tomorrow (Friday), live, at 10 p.m. EST, just in case you didn’t have plans anyway.

Granted, it won’t be the immense stage contruction that, say, U2 has, nor will it be in front of a paying live audience: instead, the performance is being held in the Foos’ own studio, Studio 606, in “what will essentially be their only U.S. concert appearance,” according to their website.

The move comes only a few days before the Nov. 3 release of the bands’ “Greatest Hits” set. While it’s not a tour that some fans would have hoped for, it’s perhaps a substitution, considering frontman Dave Grohl is now plotting his tour and album with Them Crooked Vultures.

As previously reported, “Greatest Hits”  will feature two new Foo tracks, “Word Forward” and “Wheels,” and songs like “Learn to Fly,” “Best of You” and “Everlong.”
