Warner Bros.

South By Southwest announced its film festival lineup, unveiling the 108 movies that will screen at the Austin, Texas event.

The Festival had previously announced the Paul Rudd/Jason Segel comedy “I Love You, Man” as its opening night film and the Seth Rogen vehicle “Observe and Report” as a Centerpiece screening.

In addition, SXSW will highlight 54 world premieres between March 13 and March 24. Many of the films that aren’t world premieres were favorites at other film festivals, including such recent Sundance standouts as Lynn Shelton’s “Humpday,” Greg Mottola’s “Adventureland,” Cary Funkunaga’s “Sin Nombre,” Spike Lee’s “Passing Strange” and the award-winning doc “We Live in Public.”

“We couldn”t be more delighted with SXSW 2009 line-up,” says Film Conference and Festival Producer Janet Pierson, “It”s a great continuation of the quality SXSW is known for:  plenty of compelling, new filmmaking talent across all budget lines, engaging documentaries ranging from the socially conscious to the hilarious, electrifying  music films, prominent Texas themes, cutting edge and smart Hollywood films, and an even greater exploration into global cinema.”
