Bob Dylan And Jeff Bridges Used To Jam Together

Jeff Bridges‘ life is dope and he does dope sh*t. The zen-as-hell actor who most famously played The Dude in the cult classic Coen Brothers’ film The Big Lebowski revealed that he used to jam with Bob Dylan on the regular.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bridges said Dylan is his favorite musician before saying that he got the chance to play with the man in between takes of the 2003 film Masked and Anonymous.

When you’re not making movies, you lead a band called the Abiders. What music still moves you the most?
Bob Dylan. I love all the different incarnations of his music.

What’s your favorite Dylan song?
The first thing that popped into my head is “The Man in Me,” because it was in The Big Lebowski. I do a version of that with the Abiders. We worked together on [the 2003 movie] Masked and Anonymous. He’d knock on my trailer door and go, “Hey, you wanna pick?” We would play the version of “You Belong to Me” that he did on the Natural Born Killers soundtrack.

It’s far from the first time that Bridges has expressed his love for the 1970 Dylan tune. He covered the song in the 2009 film Crazy Heart and has performed it live in venues as varied as Jimmy Kimmel Live and Lebowski Fest, the annual celebration of his most-famous role.

And as for his constant association with his role in that movie, Bridges seems to be okay with it.

“I’m proud of that movie,” he told the magazine. “God, it’s a wonderful film.”
