Lady Gaga Is Hitting Up Dive Bars To Promote Her New Album ‘Joanne’

Lady Gaga is coming to a scuzzy lil’ booze trough near you. At least, she might with her upcoming bit of promo.

Mother Monster will be rubbing elbows with us common dirtball types as the release of her latest full-length Joanne looms on the horizon. She and Bud Light (shh! don’t tell Justin Vernon!) are pairing for the cryptically titled Bud Light x Lady Gaga Dive Bar Tour. It won’t be a particularly lengthy tour (three dates in total), but those that do get to hit up one of the sets are likely to get a taste of new offerings from pop megastar. The first dive bar hootenanny being trotted out by Gaga will take place on Wednesday night with the whole affair being broadcast via her corporate sponsor on Facebook Live. This week’s performance is promising the reveal of the Joanne cut “Million Reasons.”

The two other dates will see Gaga slumming it on October 20th and October 27th. Just like this week’s performance, it’s set to take place at a “dive bar” somewhere in the United States. Seeing as definitions of what a dive bar is can vary, we’re steadying ourselves in advance for the Twitter tirades about what a “real” dive bar is even though the point of this whole thing is the novelty of Lady Gaga in a small bar. It would also be exciting if she did a surprise concert at an Arby’s.

“My first performances were in dive bars in New York City and around the country, so working with Bud Light to go back to my roots to perform songs from my new album Joanne is such an exciting way to connect with my fans and share this music with them for the first time,” said the popular recording artist in a statement.

According to the Associated Press, the audience for each show will be made up of concert winners. So if someone covered in meat at your local dank bar starts screaming “bow to Lady Gaga!” you totally don’t have to do it. That’s probably not Lady Gaga.
