If Curren$y didn’t tour so much, I would think he never left the house. It feels like all he does is smoke weed, shoot videos in different parts of his home, and record more audio dope for your ears to smoke. The video for “Canal Street Boys” doesn’t tread any new ground for Spitta, but why would it?
The New Orleans JetLifer knows what his fans want, and he gives it to them consistently every time. It’s more In-N-Out Burger, than McDonald’s. Simple, high quality, ingredients (weed, women, old schools, and work ethic) done well. It’s not terribly complex, but it’s good no matter how many times you’ve had it.
As a bonus, catch another Spitta loosie below with “Rolling Stoned” produced by E Dan from the Pittsburgh production outfit ID Labs. The distorted smoke out anthem sounds like when old heads got really high in the seventies and tried to listen to records backwards to hear a secret message. But Spitta’s message isn’t a secret at this point. Work hard, smoke good, and get money. Everything else will figure itself out.
Weed And Instrumentals 2 is out now. Keep an eye out for the next tape, which is right around the corner if Spitta stays true to his recent run of releases.
