Interested In Wyatt Cenac’s ‘People Of Earth’? Then Check Out The Commercial-Free Pilot On YouTube

The new TBS comedy series People of Earth, from the team behind The Office and starring former Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac, doesn’t premiere until Monday, October 31 at 9 p.m. ET. In other words, on Halloween night — presumably when many viewers will be out trick-or-treating instead of watching a comic twist on alien abductions, the aliens who commit them, and the human beings who endure them. Never fear, for the network has uploaded the entire 23-minute pilot onto its official YouTube page, commercial-free so that its potential audience can frolic about while collecting candy.

Created by newcomer David Jenkins, produced by Greg Daniels (The Office and Parks and RecreationConan), and starring a Who’s Who of comedians and comic actors, People of Earth follows Cenac’s character Ozzie Graham as he documents a support group for alien abductees experiencers called “StarCrossed.” What Ozzie initially finds to be a “weirdo circus of attention seekers and paranoid delusionals” turns out to be so much more, leading him to investigate his own apparent past encounters with the paranormal.

This isn’t the first time that a television network has posted a full pilot episode for a new series to draw attention. Over the summer, AMC put two versions of the Preacher pilot — the original, and a special commentary edition — on its official YouTube page.
